{"id":20464,"date":"2024-11-02T14:11:22","date_gmt":"2024-11-02T14:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=20464"},"modified":"2024-11-02T14:11:22","modified_gmt":"2024-11-02T14:11:22","slug":"oluremi-tinubu-calls-on-nigerian-women-to-champion-each-other-in-nation-building-and-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=20464","title":{"rendered":"Oluremi Tinubu Calls on Nigerian Women to Champion Each Other in Nation-Building and Leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerian women to rally around other women seeking elective positions, encourage them, and actively support them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">She made this call at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women National Summit and Dialogue in Abuja, themed \u201cEmpowering APC Women for Leadership and Nation-Building.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">In attendance were the Wife of the Vice President of Nigeria, the First Lady of The Gambia, National Assembly members, State First Ladies, Deputy Governors, APC Women Leaders from across Nigeria, and members of the diplomatic community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Senator Oluremi Tinubu emphasized, using personal examples, that the best person to understand a woman is another woman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cDuring this phase of nation-building, as women leaders, let us remember that we all have what it takes to make an impact in our various spheres of influence. Let us avoid creating imaginary limitations and focus on our potential by persevering, supporting one another, and working diligently. We can shape the future; let us do it right, one woman at a time,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The First Lady urged the National Woman Leader of the APC to team up with State Women Leaders to advocate for legislation in the National Assembly, pushing for an increased quota of women in Assembly seats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cThe next election is for Nigerian women. The Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, places a strong emphasis on creating opportunities for women to thrive. We have witnessed increased representation of women in key positions within our party and government. This is proof of the hard work, resilience, and determination we exhibit as women, and we must continue to push forward in unity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Senator Tinubu also spoke on the principles and qualities of good leadership, especially by women, which include integrity, hard work, and compassion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cA leader who cannot apologize for their wrong is not worthy to be a leader,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen you get into office, you must look out for your fellow women all the time. When one woman succeeds, we all succeed; when one woman fails, we all fail.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Earlier, the guest speaker, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent commitment to gender equity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cThis commitment has inspired a wave of new female leaders, fostering a more balanced representation in decision-making processes that enrich our nation.
