Now 23, she dreams not only of runway success but of giving back to her community through a nonprofit organization aimed at supporting the less privileged.

The Miss Radiant Nigerian Beauty Pageant was hosted by Mr. Beth Egenti, CEO of BigBeth TV, a well-known figure in the entertainment industry, renowned for promoting artists and organizing high-profile events.

During an interview with our correspondent, Ruth shared how she developed a love for modeling during her secondary school days.

“It all started in school because of my tall physique and love for fashion,” she recalled. “People would call me a model or even a basketball player. We had a mirror in our restroom, and I would often stand in front of it, posing and imagining myself on the runway. That’s when I realized modeling was my calling.”

But Ruth’s journey to the crown hasn’t been without its challenges. “Auditions can be tough,” she admitted. “You see all kinds of girls—tall, short, slim, or curvy—and sometimes, no matter how good you are, the organizers have already chosen who they want. It’s discouraging, but I always found hope in the stories of supermodels like Naomi Campbell, and that kept me going.”

Winning Miss Radiant marks Ruth’s first big break in the modeling industry, and she expressed her gratitude to Mr. Beth for providing the platform to showcase her talent. As part of her tenure as Miss Radiant, Ruth plans to launch an NGO in partnership with BigBeth TV, aimed at helping underprivileged communities.

Beth Egenti also revealed his ambitious plans for the winners of the 2024 edition. “Our Miss Radiant 2024 will represent Nigeria at the Miss Unity pageant in India in 2025, and the first runner-up will compete in Miss Cultural Botswana 2025. We’re excited to see them shine on the global stage.”

With a passion for fashion and philanthropy, Ruth Nelson is ready to make her mark—both on and off the runway.

Ruth Nelson, the newly crowned winner of the inaugural Miss Radiant Nigerian Beauty Pageant 2024, has opened up about her passion for modeling, tracing it back to her teenage years.

[5
9150,9154,9152,9153,9151
post-20107","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-entertainment","tag-dreams","tag-miss-radiant-nigeria-2024","tag-ruth-nelson","tag-the-crown","tag-the-runway
