In a significant move to address the perennial issues of flooding and traffic congestion, Hon. Kayode Obaleye, the Councillor representing Ward F, has commenced the construction of a crucial box culvert at the intersection of Olo Osunlana Drive and Akinade Street in Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos, Nigeria.<\/p>\n

The project, which is already in progress, marks a major intervention in response to the pressing infrastructural challenges facing the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recent torrential downpours have wreaked havoc in the area, causing severe flooding and rendering many roads impassable.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are all aware of the many issues within our immediate communities,” Hon. Obaleye stated, “especially the impassable roads caused by heavy rainstorms. It’s imperative that we address these needs as the situation demands.”<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cthe new culvert is expected to significantly alleviate traffic jams at Merit Junction, a notorious bottleneck for commuters on Old Ota Road from Joke Ayo.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt will also facilitate smoother connectivity between Ibari Road and Akinade Street, providing a much-needed route for commuters navigating through Olo Osunlana Drive,\u201d he stated.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hon. Obaleye emphasized the importance of the project to the local community. “The box culvert is highly essential to ease passage and decongest the renowned traffic jams at Merit Junction. This will also enhance hitch-free linking of Ibari Road to Akinade Street, benefiting all commuters.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He reassured constituents of his commitment to delivering quality infrastructure projects, promising that the culvert will be completed within three weeks as agreed with the contractor. <\/span><\/p>\n
