{"id":182,"date":"2017-05-08T20:39:54","date_gmt":"2017-05-08T20:39:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madhousenaija.com\/?p=182"},"modified":"2017-05-08T20:39:54","modified_gmt":"2017-05-08T20:39:54","slug":"intl-passport-booklets-now-available-says-nis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=182","title":{"rendered":"Int&#8217;l Passport Booklets Now Available, Says NIS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The Nigeria Immigration Service has assured Nigerians of the availability of passport booklets at all its passport issuing centres across\u00a0the country.<\/p>\n<p>The NIS spokesperson, Mr. Sunday James, gave the assurance on Monday in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>James acknowledged that NIS previously had the challenge of shortage of the booklets, but insisted that the problem had since been resolved.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inserted_ad\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201c\u200eIt would be recalled that on March 2 this year, the Service did inform the public about a shortfall in the supply of Passport Booklets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou may wish to note that the situation has since been resolved following government\u2019s intervention; and normalcy restored in all the\u00a0issuing centres as contained in our Press Release of April 6, 2017,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said there was\u200e \u200eno scarcity of passport booklets across all NIS issuing centres in the country or at the\u00a0missions abroad as being reported by a section of the media.<\/p>\n<p>He said the\u200e Comptroller-General of the NIS, Mr. Muhammad Babandede, had urged all passport applicants to approach the nearest passport offices to process their documents.<\/p>\n<p>Babandede had also stressed the need for applicants to avoid patronising touts and agents who make the process cumbersome. \u200e<\/p>\n<p>He said the NIS boss also noted that\u200e several passport booklets have been produced but remained uncollected across the various issuing centres.<\/p>\n<p>Babandede directed that all the affected issuing centres should immediately collect their booklets.<\/p>\n<p>He advised the public to disregard the misinformation about the scarcity.\u200e<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson urged the public to always contact the NIS\u200e office or forward all their complaints\/challenges on the process to <em>nis.servicom@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng<\/em> or call 08119753844 for attention.
