Veteran singer and former member of The Remedies, Eddy Remedy, has stated, contrary to his ex-bandmate Eedris Abdulkareem\u2019s assertion, that he was the sole founder of the now-disbanded group.<\/p>\n
In a recent podcast interview, Eedris Abdulkareem asserted that he and Eddy were the founding members of The Remedies and that they reluctantly accepted Tony Tetuila into the group after meeting him at a show in Ilorin, Kwara State.<\/span><\/p>\n However, during a recent interview with Daddy Freeze, Eddy Remedy clarified that Tetuila did not join the group in Ilorin. Instead, Tetuilla was introduced to him in his Lagos apartment by Abdulkareem.<\/span><\/p>\n Eddy also revealed that Eedris Abdulkareem had collected money from Tetuila\u2019s parents, debunking an age-old rumour that Tetuila\u2019s parents had sponsored the group.<\/span><\/p>\n His words: \u201cThat boy (Eedris Abdulkareem) is a greedy boy. He has always been greedy. I formed the group and invited him into the group. The day he was coming, he brought Tony [Tetuila]. I had never met Tony in my life. I just saw a guy limping behind him.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhen they got into my room, I asked him, \u2018Who is this man?\u2019 He now introduced Tony, saying that he had been with him all this time. That was when Eedris was supposed to tell me that Tony\u2019s parents had given him some money, and he told them that he would take him wherever he was going.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe didn\u2019t tell me that. The rumours first started when we were on tour that Tony\u2019s parents were sponsoring the group. No, they were not sponsoring the group. I had $5,000 that my parents sent to me from America in 1997.
