{"id":16984,"date":"2023-12-14T07:12:33","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T07:12:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=16984"},"modified":"2023-12-14T07:12:33","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T07:12:33","slug":"netizens-excited-as-caf-tweets-in-yoruba-igbo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=16984","title":{"rendered":"Netizens Excited As CAF Tweets In Yoruba, Igbo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A host of Nigerian X users are taking pleasure from the posts of the Confederation of African Football after the football governing body tweeted in some local languages of the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">CAF joined a host of other people across the world in celebrating Nigerian trio Victor Osimhen, Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie after they were recognised as the best players and goalkeeper in Africa on Monday night while also celebrating the Super Falcons team that emerged as the best Women\u2019s team on the continent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Osimhen was named African Footballer of The Year after beating Morocco\u2019s Achraf Hakimi and Egypt\u2019s Mohamed Salah to the award at a ceremony in Marrakech on Monday, with compatriot Oshoala winning the top prize in the women&#8217;s category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Nnadozie beat fellow goalkeepers in the form of Moroccan shot-stopper Khadija El-Rmichi and South Africa\u2019s Andile Olaminii to claim the CAF Women\u2019s Goalkeeper of The Year for 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The achievement means Osimhen became the first Nigeria to win the men\u2019s best player award for the first time since 1999 after Kanu Nwankwo claimed the honour. But for Oshoala, it was a record-extending sixth award and the first for Nnadozie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In celebrating the Nigerians and the women\u2019s team, CAF in a series of posts on their official X handle has been tweeted in Yoruba, Igbo and, pidgin languages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">One of the tweets in Yoruba read, \u201cMo so fun yin o #CAFAwards2023\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another tweet in pidgin read, \u201cNaija full ground, Naija gather dey, Naija no dey carry last!\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Tweeting in Igbo, CAF wrote, \u201cOsi na nwata buru ogaranya 1! Inspiring the next generation with greatness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Reacting to the tweets, an X user, JosephOnuorah wrote, &#8220;This guy na one of us &#8211; Nothing anyone can tell me! Proper naija boy behind the CAF handle <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83d\ude02<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> We see you bro <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83d\ude0e<\/span><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Klinsdon commented, &#8220;Admin where are you from? You speak Yoruba and now Igbo! <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83d\ude02<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. This admin must be a Nigerian. You spoke our languages including pidgin English! I twalle for you jor! <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83d\ude4c<\/span><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Aisah Baby added, \u201cGlobally recognised. Yoruba too sweet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Basking in the euphoria, Otunba GCFRN wrote, \u201cThank you #CAF_Online.
