{"id":16434,"date":"2023-11-01T16:33:07","date_gmt":"2023-11-01T16:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=16434"},"modified":"2023-11-01T16:35:47","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T16:35:47","slug":"perform-or-be-sacked-tinubu-warns-ministers-at-cabinet-retreat-%e2%81%a3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=16434","title":{"rendered":"Perform Or Be Sacked, Tinubu Warns Ministers At Cabinet Retreat \u2063"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, said ministers in his cabinet will only retain their offices based on their performances which will be reviewed periodically. \u2063\u2063<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Tinubu made the assertion when he declared open the 2023 Cabinet Retreat for Ministers, Presidential Aides, Permanent Secretaries and Top Government Functionaries, held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja. \u2063<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIf you are performing, nothing to fear, if you miss the objective we review, if you don\u2019t perform, you leave us\u2026 Don\u2019t be a clog in the wheel of Nigeria\u2019s progress,\u201d said the president. \u2063<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Tinubu noted that his Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, Hadiza Usman, who will spearhead the Result Delivery Unit, will closely monitor the performances of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies across the eight priority areas of his administration. \u2063<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">These include Food Security\u2014To promote economic growth and development through job creation, food security and putting an end to poverty; Ending Poverty\u2014To promote economic growth and development through job creation, food security and putting an end to poverty; Economic Growth and Job Creation\u2014To promote economic growth and development through job creation, and putting an end to poverty and Access to Capital\u2014To promote economic growth and development through job creation, food security and putting an end to poverty. \u2063<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Others are Inclusivity: Drawing on all Skills bass\u2014To prominently feature women and youth in national activities; Security\u2014To defend the nation from terror and all forms of criminality; Fairness and rule of law\u2014To be impartial and govern according to the constitution and ensure the rule of law and Anti-Corruption Stance\u2014To discourage corruption whilst strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of various anti-corruption agencies. \u2063<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Tinubu also made it clear that performances would be evaluated and accountability upheld. \u2063<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This includes a performance bond to form the basis of periodic reviews and evaluations. \u2063<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cAt the end of this retreat, you will sign a performance bond with me\u2026You are here to help me succeed and succeed I must\u2026I have appointed a dynamic young lady Hadiza Bala Usman as my SA on Policy Coordination.
