{"id":15924,"date":"2023-10-07T06:15:53","date_gmt":"2023-10-07T06:15:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=15924"},"modified":"2023-10-07T06:15:53","modified_gmt":"2023-10-07T06:15:53","slug":"stop-inciting-people-against-govt-for-doing-right-thing-group-warns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=15924","title":{"rendered":"Stop Inciting People Against Govt For Doing Right Thing -Group Warns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">A pro-democracy organization, Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG) has warned detractors to stop blaming Lagos State government for doing the right thing over keeping the environment safe in line with universal standard, asserting that, abolition of street trading is in conformity with the global standard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The organization in a press release weekend by its Convener and National President, Comrade Razaq Olokoba said, &#8220;apart from serving as a recruitment ground for hoodlums, it&#8217;s also an avenue for child abuse,&#8221; urging that government should be supported to put an end to such anti social conduct.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to Olokoba, the steps Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is taking to sanitize Lagos is in order condemning the way some individuals and groups are hiding under freedom of speech in democracy to pamper wrong doers rather than discourage them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Olokoba observed that none of all the structures the government sealed up or sanctioned passed credibility test and so should be made to be in conformity with the acceptable standard for the safety and comfort of all and sundry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has promised us a better second term. And we are of the conviction that he has our cooperation with him in mind to make it a reality. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;Against this background, it is incumbent on all the well-meaning people in the state and beyond to assist him to serve us well,&#8221; the group advised.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Concluding, the statement supported that, &#8220;Street trading should be abolished because it is a universal declaration. It is one of the recruitment ground for Child Labour and <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Child Labour is responsible for a higher percentage of school drop out. Nigeria has one of the highest records for school drop out. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;Street trading is a buffer for criminals operating on our road. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;All the structures of the market closed failed integrity test and sanitation compliance.
