Ahmed Al-Khateeb, the SFD Chief Executive Officer, signed today in Riyadh, two development loan agreements worth a total of $140 million USD to support infrastructure development with the governments of The Bahamas and the Republic of Mauritius.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The CEO also signed a letter of intent with the Republic of San Marino to explore potential cooperation in the economic, cultural, and transportation sectors. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The agreements and letter of intent signed at World Tourism Day 2023, hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The first development loan agreement, worth $70 million USD, was signed with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments &amp; Aviation of The Bahamas, Hon. Isaac Chester, to fund the Family Islands Airports Renaissance Project, which aims to develop and raise the capabilities of airports in the Exuma Islands and increase the number of visitors to the airports from 237,000 to 285,000 visitors annually.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\"> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15781 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1692-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1692-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1692-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1692-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1692-750x500.jpeg 750w, https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1692-1140x760.jpeg 1140w, https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1692.jpeg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The second development loan agreement, worth $70 million USD, was signed with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Mauritius, Hon. Louis Steven Obeegadoo, to fund the \u201cConstruction of Rivi\u00e8re des Anguilles Dam Project\u201d. This project will protect the natural environment from floodings, and provide a reliable source of water for drinking, irrigation, and industrial use.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The letter of intent was signed with the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of San Marino, Hon.
