Cabinet: Clarion Call To Move Lagos Forward –CDG

A pro-democracy group, Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), has told the newly sworn-in members of cabinet in Lagos State Wednesday that, their choice was nothing but aa clarion call to assist Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to move the state further forward, asserting that, “their choice out of about 20 million other Lagosians is not for fancy of the nomenclature of being commissioners.”

Convener and National President of the organization, Comrade Razaq Olokoba in a statement immediately after their swearing-in reminded them that, “the belief of all people and residents of the state is that, you are assembled to make the dream of the governor to make his second term better than the first one should be realised,” cautioning that, “any conduct that would not be in line with that dream of a better second term would not be tolerated.”

According to the statement, those who were just invited to join the cabinet should consider themselves lucky and should have it at the back of their minds that their choice came out of the fact that they have been under the watchful radar of the people, assuring that, “those unknown monitors that fish them out would still be monitoring them now that they are in office and so should not rest on their oars as far as performance is concerned.”

To the second timers among them like Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, Professor Akin Abayomi and others, they should know that, “their second coming is a great challenge for them to do better this time round,” reminding them that, “Governor Sanwo-Olu reposes confidence in them that they are qualified to make the dream of a better second term realisable hence their re-invitation.”

While congratulating all of them on their swearing-in, Olokoba, through the statement admonished them to be of good character and hard-working just as he told them to remember that, “the responsibility of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) is to always keep those in authorities on their toes to ensure good governance,” stating emphatically that, “positions of responsibilities like the ones they have just earned are not to be treated as a tea party but a great challenge to serve their father land through the state.”

The statement also gave kudos to the governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his maturity and sense of patriotism he exhibited while navigating through the banana peel towards the smooth conduct of the Wednesday’s activities, encouraging him to keep his eyes on the ball without distraction and assuring him of the support of the group’s teeming members within the country and beyond.

A pro-democracy group, Campaign for Dignity in Governance
