Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa and his colleagues at Lagos State House of Assembly recently announced the results of the screening exercise conducted for cabinet nominees of Mr Governor, in which some were confirmed and others not, a cross section of the citizens and residents of the State were making some insinuating remarks about a possible crack between Mr Governor and Mr Speaker.

Whereas, part of the constitutional duties of the legislature is to thoroughly and fairly examine, screen and confirm suitably qualified cabinet nominees presented to them by Mr Governor for the constitution of the State Executive Council.

As opined by me in this space last week, lobbying is an essential component of a working democracy anywhere in the world, and that was exactly what Mr Governor has done that culminated in the representation of a broader and more encompassing additional list of cabinet nominees for the consideration, screening and confirmation of the House of Assembly.

On this note, I want to specially thank my Leader, Boss and Mentor Rt. Mr Speaker is admirably building the Lagos Assembly into a well respected institution of government, which is very good for our developing democracy.

On behalf of the great people of Agege, most especially the APC and The Obasa Movement, my sincere appreciation goes to our God-fearing and fair-minded Leader, Rt.
