The region has produced leaders who have served at both the Federal and State level, earning its distinction among other areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Distinguished good people of Surulere, in 2002, I vied for the office of a Councillor and the good people of the Ward said it is not time to serve. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Twelve years later, I indicated my interest in the seat of the constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly and I gracefully lost to the incumbent and the same scenario repeated itself in 2022, where the party leadership agreed that the incumbent should continue to serve.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Throughout I have remained steadfast, very active, dedicated, committed, loyal and faithful to the party while also contributing to its growth, through the different phases, and Surulere in general.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Despite not holding a political portfolio, I have engaged in various initiatives to support education, health, youth empowerment, and social welfare, benefiting students, youths, businesses, the elderly, widows, and people with disabilities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">These, among many other reasons, resulted in my nomination and election as Chairman of the APC in Surulere (Constituency 1 &amp; 2).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">During the 2023 General Election, I served as the Director General of the party\u2019s Campaign Council (TGSEE), successfully delivering all five candidates in Surulere Local Government. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Additionally, I was appointed as a member of the Joint Task Force for Surulere 2, further demonstrating my commitment to the success of our party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">With my prolific and ongoing consultation, the level of acceptance, and the call by the people, I accept with great humility the clarion call to represent Surulere Federal Constituency 1 in the House of Representatives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I recognize the enormous responsibility that lies ahead, especially in light of the exceptional leadership of our utmost leader, Rt Hon. Dr. Femi Gbajabiamila.
