A former Governor of Kano State, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,\u00a0 on Saturday night paid a courtesy visit to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.<\/p>\n
Kwankwaso arrived at Atiku\u2019s residence at 8.30pm and went into a closed-door meeting with the former Vice President.<\/p>\n
The details of their meeting was not made public. The meeting was however said to have lasted for about 45 minutes.<\/p>\n
It was gathered from a source close to the meeting that both leaders used the occasion of the visit to discuss the state of the nation.<\/p>\n
Kwankwaso is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress while Atiku is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.<\/p>\n
It was not clear why he boycotted his party\u2019s national convention at the Eagles Square.<\/p>\n
But the former governor has been having running battles with the party in his state and at the national level.<\/p>\n
Atiku has declared his intention to seek the ticket of the PDP to contest the 2019 presidential election.<\/p>\n
Though he has yet to defect, there are speculations that the former governor of Kano State is also planning to leave the APC soon.<\/p>\n
When contacted, Media aide to Atiku, Mr. Paul Ibe, confirmed the visitation but declined to discuss details of the meeting between Atiku and Kwankwaso.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
