{"id":12431,"date":"2023-03-03T17:08:57","date_gmt":"2023-03-03T17:08:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=12431"},"modified":"2023-03-03T17:21:07","modified_gmt":"2023-03-03T17:21:07","slug":"csos-strategize-for-sanwo-olus-2nd-term-victory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=12431","title":{"rendered":"CSOs Strategize For Sanwo-Olu&#8217;s 2nd Term Victory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), under it&#8217;s convener, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, Friday held a strategic meeting in Lagos where it Strategized on how the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu would win the governorship election coming up next week Saturday, March 11, 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Addressing members of 31 civil society groups present, the convener Comrade Razaq Olokoba said the meeting was necessary in view of what happened last week during the presidential election where a supposedly non-existent opposition party the Labour Party (LP) defeated all other parties including the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to him, if the election was governorship poll, the story would have been deferent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Speaking further, Olokoba made it abundantly clear that, &#8220;the CSOs don&#8217;t belong to any political party, but just want good governance under Sanwo-Olu to continue because our concern is welfare of the citizenry irrespective of which party is providing it.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The CSOs&#8217; convener, Olokoba said, as civil society groups, their duty is not only to condemn and criticize bad government but it is also about praising and encouraging performing government with a view to gingering it to do more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If democracy is all about the welfare of the citizenry and somebody is doing it well, Olokoba saw no reason such a performing administrator should be stopped abruptly when he still has a constitutionally allowed period to complete the good job he has started.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In addition, the meeting reasoned it would be desirous to hand over Lagos State to someone without a prerequisite knowledge or experience of governance to use it as trial and error experiment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The meeting came up with a far-reaching recommendations that would be released in a comprehensive communique later.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), under it&#8217;s convener, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, Friday held a strategic meeting in Lagos where it Strategized on how the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu would win the governorship election coming up next week Saturday, March 11, 2023.
