{"id":11856,"date":"2023-02-06T00:03:21","date_gmt":"2023-02-06T00:03:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=11856"},"modified":"2023-02-06T00:03:21","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T00:03:21","slug":"sterling-bank-hoards-new-notes-in-viral-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=11856","title":{"rendered":"Sterling Bank Hoards N6m New Notes In Viral Video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">A monitoring team of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbn.gov.ng\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Central Bank of Nigeria<\/a> has accused the <a href=\"https:\/\/sterling.ng\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sterling Bank<\/a> branch in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State of hoarding new naira notes it had collected for almost two weeks, claiming that their automated teller machines were not yet configured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a trending video on Sunday, a deputy director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbn.gov.ng\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CBN<\/a>, who identified himself at Owoeye said there was no excuse for keeping the cash.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Speaking in the viral video, he said, \u201cI\u2019m currently at <a href=\"https:\/\/sterling.ng\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sterling Bank<\/a> as part of this monitoring compliance with the guidelines by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbn.gov.ng\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CBN<\/a>. They have six million which they have collected from the bank for almost two weeks. They have not dispensed any. They said they are yet to configure their ATM. I don\u2019t know why. I have brought their attention to the penalty clause of one million per day.
