A Non Governmental Organisation, Foodclique Support Initiative<\/a> in collaboration with PepsiCo Foundation<\/a> have distributed free food boxes to over five hundred residents of Ikotun in Alimosho local government area of Lagos State.<\/p>\n

The gesture was in continuation of its \u201cGive Meals, Give Hope\u201d campaign aimed at feeding vulnerable Nigerians across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event which recorded an impressive turn out was held at 1-5, Isolo Road, Ikotun, besides Synagogue Church of All Nations<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The distribution of the food boxes at Ikotun was one of the numerous interventions by the groups towards the eradication of hunger among the less privileged.<\/span><\/p>\n

The groups stressed the need for regular outreach towards the downtrodden especially at this period that the prices of food stuffs and other consumables have skyrocketed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tomilayo Sadiq, Head Program and Research at Foodclique Support Initiative<\/a>, said the choice of Idimu for the distribution was arrived at due to large number of people facing the challenge of catering for their daily needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said since inception of the group over a decade, close to twelve point five million Nigerains across some states have benefitted from the free food box distribution.<\/span><\/p>\n

He was of the view that solving the challenge of hunger is tantamount to addressing the most basic need of man.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gbenga Adesanya, HR Manager at PepsiCo Foundation<\/a> said the collaboration with Foodclique in reaching out to the needy and the poor was due to her track record.<\/span><\/p>\n

He charged government to continue to provide conducive environment for those in the private sector to honour their obligations of Corporate Social Responsibility in impacting on the lives of the people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many of the beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to the groups for the kind gesture.<\/span><\/p>\n
