Two Non-Governmental Organizations have expressed excitement over the Fellowship Award bestowed on Lagos Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu by the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (N.I.C.E), in recognition of the governor\u2019s giant strides and unparalleled investment in up-scaling infrastructural development in Lagos State.<\/p>\n
The NGOs are an all women group, Women for Change Initiatives (WCI), and Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG). In separate statements, the organizations unanimously agreed that, the Award is a deserved one for Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu who they severally described as an achiever, a performer and workaholic administrator.<\/span><\/p>\n Convener of the WCI, Barrister Eyitope Success-Adekunle, in her statement on behalf of her NGO pointed out that, \u201cconcrete performance and achievements need no eye glasses to see, saying, Sanwo-Olu\u2019s performance across the state is so visible so much that everybody can behold.<\/span><\/p>\n According to her statement, building of beneficial infrastructure that has made the state the cynosure of all eyes that other states are envious of an emulating has also caught the attention of the N.I.C.E and thus compelled its leadership to honour the man at the helms of affairs in the state with a befitting Fellowship Award.<\/span><\/p>\n In the same vein, National President and Convener of the CDG, Comrade Razaq Kolade Olokoba commended the N.I.C,E leadership and the award organizers for their genuine assessment of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu that led to the Fellowship Award, believing that, \u201cthe gesture is nothing but a clarion call to him to do more.<\/span><\/p>\n Olokoba buttress his assertion by pointing out the governor\u2019s response at the venue of the event when he declared his administration\u2019s commitment towards provision of efficient and sustainable infrastructure to meet growing demands.<\/span><\/p>\n The occasion was the 20th International Civil Engineering Conference of the Institution, with the theme;\u201cSustainable Civil Infrastructure Development in a Challenging Economy,\u201d held at the Podium International Events, Ikeja, Lagos, where he was ably represented by his Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure, Engr.
