{"id":10084,"date":"2022-08-23T18:54:16","date_gmt":"2022-08-23T18:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=10084"},"modified":"2022-09-23T22:14:39","modified_gmt":"2022-09-23T22:14:39","slug":"union-bank-loses-n1-6bn-to-5-man-lebanese-nigerian-fraud-syndicate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=10084","title":{"rendered":"Union Bank Loses N1.6bn To 5-Man Lebanese\/Nigerian Fraud Syndicate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unionbankng.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Union Bank of Nigeria Plc<\/a> is currently battling to recover the whooping sum of N1, 626, 139, 795, 12 billion, allegedly lost to an elusive five-man fraud syndicate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The alleged fraud syndicate consists of three Lebanese and two Nigerians. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">They are Sunil Kumar Hari Prasad; Voodi Sumaprakash and Dhanuka Sunil Kumar, all Lebanese and the dou of Ningle Kevin and Obiageli Inuwagle, who are Nigerians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It was reliably gathered that they have all fled the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unionbankng.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Union Bank<\/a> in its desperate efforts to get the alleged fraudster arrested and prosecuted, had reported the matter at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npf.gov.ng\/departments\/investigation.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Force Criminal Investigation Department<\/a> ForceCID, Alagbon-Ikoyi Lagos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Meanwhile, men of ForceCID Alagbon-Ikoyi, has filed a three-count charge against the alleged fraudsters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the charge, the police alleged that the fraudsters and others now at large of conspiring among themselves to obtained the sum of N1, 626, 139, 795.12 billion, from Union Bank Plc by false pretence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The alleged fraudsters were also accused of stealing the said amount from the bank.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The offences according to the police are contrary to and punishable under sections 8(a), 1(a), (c) &amp; 1(2)of the Advance Fee Fraud and other related offences Act, 2006.
